Hello there!

I am Youngil Kim, a fifth year Ph.D. student in Computer Science at UC Irvine, who loves traveling, cooking, and reading. I am working in the security group SPROUT, under the supervision of Prof. Gene Tsudik. Before joining UC Irvine, I have worked at LG Electronics for 5 years as software engineer and research scientist.

I am expected to graduate in Spring 2025. I am open to Security/Software Research/Engineering full-time positions.

Research Interests

My research interests involve resolving Security and privacy issues in general computing systems. Currently, I am working on security and privacy concerns in IoT/CPS and Embedded systems. I am also highly interested in Confidential Computing, Multi-Party Computation (MPC), and AI-assist security techniques.
